I want to create a cross reference in Arbortext that opens a PDF or Word document that is located in Windchill. Is this possible? The resource manager only displays DITA content even when the "TYPE" filter at the bottom of the resource manager is set to "PDF or "Any".
FYI, I was able to accomplish this with a Word document that is located on a network drive.

I have a datamerge setup that requires an XSL to structure the result set. Currently the path must be hard coded to something like C:/DataMerge/Transform.xsl for it to work. I would like to keep the XSL file within the custom folder structure in Arbortext - so is ther a way to use a system variable instead? Does anyone know of some tricks?

I have a file "master" xml that references other xml files (of different types, different pattern depending on the type of document). From this file, I run a command that generates the ACL of each PDF file.
My question is, is there a way from Arbortext Editor to assemble all these PDF files into a single PDF file?

If you are in a topic and the cursor is at the bottom of it and you save, then close. When you open the file you will be at the spot where you saved. Is there a setting to make the cursor go to the top automatically instead of scrolling?

We have been using Arbortext as a publishing tool for almost a year now. So far we have not had too many issues we haven't been able to overcome. Typically our documents are between 50 - 200 rendered pages and contain images, lists, cross references, and often many tables.
From time to time, I get complaints from users indicating that after rendering documents multiple times, they get segment violations and Arbortext closes. The work around is to restart and keep going.
It seems that the more complex the tables get (cell spanning) the more likely we have issues. For fun, I took a document and copied the content many times over to see what would happen when we have a larger document - the result is Arbortext will just crash about 330 pages or so into rendering. From a system perspective, I can see memory usage climb (x32 version here) to just over 1.1 GB before the crash. The error I commonly see is editor.exe: segment violation (signal 11).
My question is this, how do others handle these issues and are there other settings under the covers that will allow Arbortext more memory or to process larger files? I am a bit nervous that someday soon we may run into a 600 page document that cannot be handled.
I looked into some of the stylesheet profiling tools - but again with the error message I am seeing - it doesn't tell me what is really happeneing. For reference we are using the APP engine and have a custom schema/stylesheet.
Any advise is welcome.

If I have 4 specific topics that can be reused in every ditamap that I created. What do I need to do to group them together? I tried placing them in a ditamap then including that ditamap in the original ditamap, but it did not give me the results that I wanted.

I need help eliminating orphans in indexes. I'm a new user, so I don't have enough experience with Styler to modify a stylesheet that was prepared for us by a third-party vendor. Is there a way to associate indented text blocks so they travel together across columns and pages without leaving large gaps? Example below:
So Ive run into a problem and can not find any solution on the internet for Isodraw 7.2 cursor info not being able to display. I thought if I reset to factory settings or deleted my preferences it would help but still no solution.
The Cursor info can not be turned on and when I hover over it, it says Curso info is not shown (Enable background drawing first). I searched for how to activate the background and nothing came up. I saw a thread on here about 7.1 having a problem with not being able to show curso info. Which a couple people responded with going into your preferences and selecting buffered drawing to enable it.
Which Use OpenGL is checked and anti - aliasing is checked. But unchecking either of those does not free up the Use Buffered drawing to be checked. I mean ultimately Id like to just be able to place my cursor over a line and have it show the midpoint of the line so I can accurately mirror the line and build symmetrical pieces.

Please help: Client is working on a manual that has Figures on Even Pages and corresponding Tables on Odd Pages.
I have been battling to achieve the desired result with Page Sets, in addition, the challenge comes in where a Table for one Figure runs over 2 pages - I need the Table to break, then either the Figure is repeated on the Even Page or the page is left blank, then the Table continues on the Odd Page.
What I have been getting is once I have defined a Page Set with Left and Right Page Types, I get the image on Even page, half the Table (which is correct) on the next (Odd Page), then the image again (Even Page) and my content flow stops 
the Table does not continue to the other page and my whole document does not output (PDF) i.e. only outputs up to the last Even Page with the image.
Your assistance will be highly appreciated in this regard.

is it posible to integrate interupts in IsoDraw macros? the problem is when macro is runing it is imposible to zoom in or zoom out, and some time later I get white screen.
wait mouseClick is not working as I want, it wait for mouse click, but as I said it is not posible to zoom.
I am using arbortext styler to create pdfs. I am having a problem with controlling the page numbers. The first fews page sets have normal numbering (1,2,3...ect.), but then the format switches to 1001,1002...ect. When I switch the start at value for the page number to 1001 in this section, the entire document starts at that number, which is not what I want. Does anyone have any advice on how to control the page numbering throughout the document?

We upgraded three seats to v7.3 several months ago, to solve a .wmf size issue in Word (8 inches in Isodraw = 6 inches in Word.) Our three seats of v7.3 have been producing consistently correct .emf files on our two Windows 7 machiines and one XP64 machine until last week, when the XP64 installation whent back to generating incorrectly sized .emf files.
I've tried them in various Office apps and even in Adobe Illustrator, but the only time# the .emf files are displayed at the correct size is when imported back into Isodraw. I also have re-installed v7.3 on the XP64 machine with no luck. We plan to upgrade the XP machine to Windows 7 in about 2 months, but there's no guarantee that will work, and we need the capability now, rather than later....Has anyone else experienced simalar problems?

What I am now trying to do is see if I can modify an exisiting script to add new functionality to it. But I need help as I am not a programmer.
The first script is for creating index term for part numbers in a column in a table. You place your cursor in the colomn that you want the index to show and press f12. It runs our auto_index.acl script (thanks Dmitry), works pretty good, doesnt stop when there is a blanks cell. Thanks to Suzanne Napoleon and Gareth Oakes for helping me with getting my index to properly format the numbering.

I have a English DITA map that I have had translated into multiple languages. What are some ways in Arbortext and PDMLink that I can associate the translated DITA maps and topics with the English?
Hi I am using Isodraw 7.1 build M070.
While I open and save the file from a location I do not find any problem.
But When I use Save As option to save the file to 7.0 or others the file gets saved in the different location (This location corresponds to the previous navigated saved as location).
The same problem persists when I try to export also.
I do not have the batch file for import and export also as in Isodraw 7.0.
So Could anyone help me out of this problem and even share the batch file (import and export) for Isodraw 7.1.
